About Sangathi Venkatesh

Sri. M.Venkatesh (Sangathi Venkatesh) was born in an orthodox middle class family in the prestigious locality of Basavanagudi. Born to late Sri. Muniswamy and late Smt.Ratnamma, Sri.. Venkatesh did his schooling in Acharya Pata Shala (APS School) and completed his graduation from B.E.S Evening College in 1989. In the year 1988-89 he was elected Student Union President.

As a student Sangathi Venkatesh showed lively interest in the welfare of all the students. His popularity increased as he moved up the ranks of the union and soon enough ascended to the position of the Student Union President. Sangathi Venkatesh successfully retained the position for 3 consecutive years.

His achievements as the Student Union President were laudable as Sangathi Venkatesh during his tenure organized a chola for the anti mandal commission. This was supported by all the colleges under Bangalore University. This chola garnered a very positive response and they came out with flying colors.

Sangathi Venkatesh is also fondly remembered by all the students of evening colleges for his campaign to get them bus passes, which was earlier stopped from being issued. He was supported unanimously by all the students of evening colleges in this campaign.

Sangathi Venkatesh also fought for the formation of individual student unions in every single college under the Bangalore University. This caused severe agitation and the movement raged on for quite awhile. Eventually student union for every college was made compulsory and he was praised for his perseverance to this cause. He was honored by the student body by placing him as the president of Bangalore University Students Union Action Committee. This movement had caught the eye of the politicians and Sri. Venkatesh gained entry into politics. He served in the student and youth wing under many different positions with great pedigree. He soon was the face of the youth wing in state level activities.

After his graduation Sangathi Venkatesh was actively involved in social service and other community service activities. He has been a huge source of support for the needy, which has led to him being titled as ‘SANGATHI’. He has conducted several health camps, medical camps, donor camps for the needy. Sangathi Venkakesh been involved in getting education for deserving candidates, helping them get a good standard of education.

His work was noticed by the Bharatiya Janata Party and has given a ticket to contest from Vidyapeetha (Ward 164).
